Slowing Down

Hey all! This week has been a rather slow and easy one, especially compared to last week! We've been enjoying our shades and working on getting a few more boxed unpacked and some things organized. Justin had a couple of job interviews recently, just for a promotion where he works and one for a very similar program with another company, but both of them turned him down because they chose someone with more experience. But he can probably try again next year. In the mean time he's still enjoying what he does.
I'm still trying to make the most of my mornings. Still getting up at 5 to go for a walk. By the time I get dressed and leave the house, after praying with Justin, it's already quarter after, and I still like to be home when he leaves for work, so I'm only getting about 15 minutes worth of walking in, but it seems to be making a difference. I've been doing it for less than a month, but I'm already starting to see some definition in my calves. It's also nice to be outside that early in the morning because it's only in the 80's or 90's then. So it feels nice rather than feeling like you're walking around in an oven. I've also been trying to do the dishes every morning and sweeping the floor when I can. Thursday and Friday I even took five minutes to write in my journal. Not nearly enough time to get much down, but it's better than nothing.
Today I think has been the busiest day so far this week. And all we did was grocery shopping, laundry, watch the Doctor Who marathon and season finale, and I had my annual eye exam. Thankfully my prescription hasn't changed a bit in the past year. Oh, I also painted my toenails. I started on my fingernails, but didn't have time to finish before my appointment, so I've just got one nail on each hand that's half red and half blue. I love painting my own nails!

Yesterday was fun too. When I got home from work, Justin and I made biscuits and gravy for dinner (we used the gluten free Bisquick because of my wheat allergy and substituted corn starch for the flour in the gravy) and then we went and saw Wonder Woman at the Texas Station. It was awesome! I especially enjoyed some of the music in it.
In other news, Justin's aunt called him this week and said she had just heard from his Dad that we got a house and wanted to say congrats. (She's so sweet!) She also said that she heard that Justin's dad had paid for us to replace half of our blinds and she wanted to pay for the rest! So Justin went ahead and ordered them and they're supposed to arrive on Monday! (If you're reading this, THANK YOU!!!!!) My parents are planning on coming over Friday to help us put them up. We're going to be making my Mom's Hashbrown Casserole for dinner and a gluten free angel food cake that I just found a recipe for! I'm really excited about that. Angel food cake is one of my favorites and once I discovered this allergy, I thought I'd never get to have it again. Any way.
The sun has finally set here, but it's still 102 degrees outside. But I did get to enjoy a beautiful bright orange sunset tonight! And I think I'll leave you with that tonight. Have a fabulous weekend and a safe Independence Day!
